Function keys F1 to F4 can each hold a full setup or a single-item shortcut. Four stored setups turn a long menu session into one press.
At a glance
- F1 to F4 hold full setups or one-item shortcuts
- Press a shortcut key twice within 5 seconds
- Factory F1 and F3 are short range; F2 and F4 are long range
- Furuno suggests sets for surface, bottom and midwater fish

What the keys hold
The factory settings are F1 short-range detection, F2 long-range detection, F3 short and F4 long. A key can store the whole picture setup, or just one item as a shortcut; for a shortcut item, press the key twice within five seconds.
Programming a key
Set the menu the way you want it, go to ASSIGN SETTING and choose the key, press EVENT, choose YES and press EVENT again. Furuno's menu tree lists the items that can be assigned.
Suggested sets
The Operator's Manual suggests these as starting points:
| For | TX OUTPUT | PULSE | TVG NEAR / FAR | Other |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Surface fish | 8 | 7 | 5 / 5 | VER beam narrow |
| Bottom fish | 7 | 5 | 5 / 6 | VER beam wide, color curve 4 |
| Midwater fish | 8 | 8 | 6 / 7 |
A habit worth having
Store a setup you trust on F1, a long-range version on F2, and leave a key free to experiment on. Photograph the screen when a setting works, so you can rebuild it.
