Target lock: fish mode and target mark

Keep a school on screen while the boat moves.

Target lock keeps a school or a spot on the screen as you maneuver, and reports where it is going.

At a glance

  • Two modes: Fish and Target Mark
  • Position tracking is the default
  • Needs external data input
  • A lost target turns red and falls back to position mode

About 7 minutes. Part of Run the CSH-10.

Two modes

Fish mode follows the school itself. Target Mark mode holds a fixed position. Position tracking is the default. Only one target lock can run at a time.

What it needs

Target lock relies on data from outside the sonar, such as heading and position, which is why the sonar needs those inputs connected. Without them the function is limited.

What changes while it runs

The range changes automatically and cannot be changed by hand by default. Auto tilt is disabled. If the target is lost, it turns red and the sonar switches to position mode.

How to start

Put the cursor on the echo you want to follow and start the lock. The guide's figure labels this TARGET LOCK. Tilt and range interlock settings can only be changed by a service technician.
